About Alicia
After graduating from ArtEZ Arnhem in 2018, Alicia joined the One Army collective, where she began to wonder how to make her utopia and graduation collection Noeskwam a reality. She started there the open-source platform Fixing Fashion, which is an online platform with a collection that is not for sale. Rather where you can remake the collection with your wardrobe. It became a success with a community of repairers and upcyclers worldwide.
After Fixing Fashion, she wanted a world where she could play in, create and reshape the new and the existing, repair what is loved, and devise alternative systems for fashion production, use, and consumption.
She now creates one-off unique projects made in limited editions and made-to-order products that are available throughout the year. She has a deep belief in paving her own path.
Use of Materials
At Alicia Minnaard Studio, we work with natural, ecological fabrics, as well as vintage and discarded clothing, creating pieces that celebrate sustainability. Our approach embraces imperfections, emphasizing repair and upcycling in alignment with the wabi-sabi philosophy. By thoughtfully blending the old with the new, each creation is designed to stand the test of time. Offering beauty, functionality, and a lasting presence in the lives of those who wear them.
