'From Seed to Scarf' Scarf
This 100% linen scarf is crafted with care and community. Wear it for sun or rain protection—the print tells the story from flax seed to linen fabric. When it reaches the end of its life, simply compost it, returning it to the earth.
Dimensions: 65 cm × 65 cm
Inspired by traditional embroidered linen, this scarf can be personalized with your initials and its unique number. To add this special touch, email your request to aliciaminnaard.info@gmail.com. Personalized scarves require an additional 5 working days before shipping.
Harvest: Locally grown and harvested by hand by the Linen Stewards at de Horsterhof in Duiven.
Production: Woven by Enschede Textielstad.
Mordant: Naturally scoured and mordanted with Oak galls by hand.
Print: Silkscreened with Madder root ink in collaboration with Uncolour Studios, printed at de Wasserij in Rotterdam, and made into a scarf in Amsterdam. Because of its natural processes, every scarf is unique and has different hues in the fabric and the print.
Finishing: 100% Organic Cotton, Sewn by hand
Pricing: The scarf pricing starts at €150, covering fabric, silkscreen printing, packaging, and supporting everyone involved in bringing this project to life. The costs of the Linen Stewardship and, therefore, the harvest of the linen are not at this price, as I wanted to see how the process goes and if it was possible to make an affordable product locally and sustainably, with the soil-to-soil principle.
Do you want to add initials + serial number or a random word + serial number to the scarf, it will be €175.
